Over the past 20 years photography has been a large part of my life. From the first roll of 35mm film getting developed out of my Minolta 505si, I was hooked. I just had to learn more and do more with the camera. Within weeks I had news photos published in the local press and 8 months had my first front cover in a trade magazine published. I enrolled in college first doing wet film developing in the darkroom then enrolled in a second, 2 year HNC photography course with film and digital DSLR

In December 2005 because of the success and drive of my freelance news media work and emergency service related magazine work was invited to work for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service as Service Photographer.
I got to shoot on some fantastic action Photography on the front line and shoot some amazing video projects, Incidents and news stories.
MSI Photography continued running in the background as well as working for the fire service. work including commercial and product photography, stock images, weddings, events and magazine work.
In 2011 the studio was completed and studio photography started to become a large part of my photography work

Moving forward to 2017. I now work from the studio on sutton park in Hull a large percentage of my work is studio based baby bump, newborn, children and family portraits. I still take on commissioned and commercial, areal photography and magazine work.
I now have over 20 years experience in the photography trade with a vast portfolio of work published around the world,
also running a successful free photography help site for the 13th year running helping other photographer sell there images.

Here are 10 great questions to ask your baby photographer before you hire them, so you don't end up choosing a 'wrong-un!' and end up being disappointed with the results.
So why use MSI Photography Studio? At MSI Photography you have a great 1 to 1 studio experience from start to finish, from a professional photographer that has been in the trade for over 20 years in a welcoming, relaxing fully heated studio. Every single photo is fully edited before your viewing, so that you are able to see beautiful, high quality images. All the images are printed at a photography print lab to ensure your photographs will look as amazing in 40 years as they do the day that you collect them. You can also buy your prints framed or made in to canvases There is no hidden costs with any of my products or hard sell involved to ensure that you have an amazing time and also come away with the beautiful images that you want and will cherish for a life time. How long is the session? When you book a shoot, your time slot is an hour but this depends on the baby/child, I am very flexible with the session so I can be so confident of getting the amazing images you want to see on the walls of your home. If your baby cries, needs changing, feeding or cuddling, the babies needs are the priority. No problem, I work around your baby's schedule, not mine. Almost every shoot has to stop for nappy changes and feeding so no need to worry it is not a problem at all. By removing any stress, keeps the session fun for all and this is how we will get the best from your baby or child. Beware of baby photography sessions that are only 30 minutes long as it doesn't leave any time for you baby to have a relaxed shoot. Are the rest of the family allowed to be in the photographs? All the print packages are the same price no matter who is sitting. If you come for a baby shoot and want a family shot or brothers and sisters with the baby, or grandad with dad its not a problem. At MSI photography you build you photograph package from the prints you want to buy at the viewing session. Some baby photographers either don't allow or charge extra for siblings and parents to be in the photographs. What happens if we have to postpone our appointment? I appreciate that babies and children get sick more often than we do, so I understand if you need to cancel an appointment. Just let me know as soon as you can so I can reschedule my work load we'll reschedule when you are available to make a new appointment. There's no cancellation fee like you'll get with some photographers. What happens if i don't like the photographs? MSI Photography understands that on occasion babies and children may under the weather, hungry or just don't want to play. there is totally no obligation to by anything you don't like. The decision on what images you buy is totally up to you, I will never try to sell you something you don't want. I DON'T DO HARD SELL When you visit the studio I totally understand I try my best to make the shoot fun and entertaining for the children, to get the best from them in that moment and we can still produce some amazing images. When and how do I pay on most studio offers there is no studio fee on the day. We require a £30 deposit on all print package at the point of order but you studio fee will be used if you have been asked to pay one with you shoot Photo canvases and framed pictures will need to paid for in full at the time of ordering. Print and canvases take approximately 5 working days to arrive back at the studio from point of order. Payments are accepted via bank transfer, or cash. There are no up front fee before you see an edited photo like you'll get with some photographers. How long do you keep the photos on file Your full set of images will be kept on file for 3 months and you are welcome to return and view the images at any time. There is no “Hard sell” or “the photos will be gone in a week if you don’t buy now” like you'll get with some photography studios. Do you do photos just on CD No, but you will receive a complementary soft digital copy of the printed images you have bought sent to you on email, for uploading to social media or email to to friends and family. Please note the digital images are not suitable for re printing. however you can still buy copy prints to add to your order at any time after the shoot . professional photography studios don’t sell photos just on CD, buyer beware Can we see samples of the products you sell before we buy Yes, the studio is full of print, framed prints print samples and canvases you can see and touch, again there are no hidden costs with my products and I pride my self on the quality of my work.
